The old guard (retinol, acids, high-strength vitamin C) has long been used to soften the look of fine lines and improve skin texture. For many people it works well. For others, it can bring dryness, peeling and sun sensitivity, leaving skin feeling more sensitive or irritated.

The Serum was created with that skin in mind. It pairs hydrating ingredients with newer actives to support ageing skin, in one formula that is effective and simple to use, morning and night. No need for the eight or more products that have become the norm.

Four key actives

1. EGF (epidermal growth factor) peptides
Help soften the look of fine lines and smooth the skin. They act as messengers that signal skin cells to renew.

2. Niacinamide
A gentle form of vitamin B3 that supports the skin barrier and helps even skin tone. It helps skin make its own barrier lipids and slows the movement of pigment to the surface.

3. Algae exosomes
Help skin look renewed and smoother. Made from a green microalgae with stem cell-like properties, they copy the tiny messages skin cells send each other, supporting the skin’s own renewal and barrier.

4. KānuBright™
A New Zealand red algae and kānuka complex that brightens dull-looking skin, supports even pigmentation and helps limit water loss. It helps blocks tyrosinase, the enzyme that drives pigment production.

Supported by hyaluronic acid, which holds water in the skin, and squalane, a form of a lipid skin makes itself, which helps keep it there.

Why we made it

The old guard’s work, without the trade-off. Newer, barrier-centred ingredients aim to do the work of retinol and acids, without the dryness, peeling or sun sensitivity.

The early research is promising. It is less extensive than for retinol and acids, but what exists looks good enough to make this worth doing.

One serum, not several products. One formula simplifies the routine and lowers the risk of damage from layering too many strong actives.

Give it a minimum of eight weeks. Skin rewards consistency.

How to use

Best practice: patch test first. Before starting any new product, apply a small amount behind your ear and leave it for 24 hours. If your skin is happy, you’re good to go.

1. Morning: Wash your face with. Viteve™ Silk Exfolitor first. Night: Cleanse with Corbin Rd Cleansing Balm, exfoliate with the Viteve™ Silk Exfolitor.
2. Dot a small amount of Serum onto forehead and cheeks, then massage over the whole face and neck. Morning and night.
3. Use on its own, or with a moisturiser when your skin needs it. In the morning, finish with SPF.

FAQ

Can I use it around my eyes? Yes. It’s made for under eye, face & neck. Keep it out of the eyes themselves.

Do I still need a moisturiser? Not always. Add one when your skin wants it.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin? It’s designed for sensitive and sensitised skin. As best practice, patch test any new product first: apply a small amount behind your ear and leave it for 24 hours.

Which size should I buy? The 10ml is the easy way to start. The 30ml is the full-size bottle.
